Fabrica de Faianças Bordalo Pinheiro is a ceramics Factory in Caldas da Rainha started by Bordalo Pinheiro in the end of the 1800s.
Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement from the UK, he aimed at delivering high quality Artistic ceramics that would be able to be produced in larger quantities without reaching industrial level.
His Ceramics are now part of the Portuguese identity and his factory is unfortunately and irresponsibly being left to go Bankrupt.
They are looking for Investment.
This is an image of the fountain in the Factory, it shows the humour and craftsmanship that Characterize Bordalo Pinheiro.
He also makes cabbage leaf dishes, lobster boxes, and other kitsch and weirdly surreal stuff for the house.
