INDEX: awards Copenhagen, Denmark

INDEX: awards Copenhagen, Denmark

"For a third time, INDEX presents the world's largest monetary award in design, a total 500,000 euros, to the creators of extensively juried designs made with the intent of improving life.

More than 700 initial entries were put forward for INDEX:Award 2009. In an exhaustive process of comparative evaluation, debate and research, the international INDEX jury of design specialists has selected the best of them, for presentation in the exhibition.

Paralleling the award categories, themselves, the exhibition divides designs into five categories: Body, Home, Work, Play and Community. Over the years, this set of divisions has proved to comprise concerns relevant to many aspects of human life. They are equally inspiring to laymen and professionals, young and old,

The exhibition premieres in August 2009 in Copenhagen's masterful Kongens Nytorv, a beautiful and large square centered around the equestrian statue of King Christian V."
